William Stanley Rogers, age 71, resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 2:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home with Randy McNeese officiating. Entombment will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 12:00pm until the service hour at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
William was born in Maury County, Tennessee on May 15, 1953, and was the son of Dorothy Jean Attkisson Thomason the late William Cordell Rogers. He graduated as Valedictorian of Hay Long High School in 1971. He owned Rogers Market in Mount Pleasant and enjoyed being around people. He liked the outdoors and watching western movies. He was an avid Vols fan and enjoyed reading especially his Bible. Most of all he treasured the time spent with his nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Along with his mother, he is survived by his niece, Callie Hooper; nephews, Leo Cole, Jr., Hayden Ward, and Keyton Bradburn; cousins, Rick Clawson and Wanda Rose; best friend, Jan Logan; good neighbor, Debbie Underwood; and many other cousins.
Pallbearers will be Rick Clawson, Paul Kersey, Hayden Ward, and John Irwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck and Sherry Howell, Rez Jones, and Rick Warren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Gentiva Hospice and especially Tim Brashears for all their care and concern during this difficult time.
