William McGee

William Lawrence McGee, age 78, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Countryside Health and Rehabilitation.

Born on October 27, 1947, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, William was the son of the late Lawrence William McGee and Bessie Mae Clayton McGee. He was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting and fishing, spending time outdoors, and working on old cars. He also had a passion for CB radios, enjoying conversations with fellow operators on the road and collecting them over the years. Above all, he cherished his family—especially his grandchildren—and held a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, Dixie. William will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Chris McGee; Crystal Larsen of Linden, TN; Teri Knuckles of Lawrenceburg, TN; and Stacie Martin of Lawrenceburg, TN; his sister, Diane Francis Fisher of Leoma, TN; his brother, Dennis (Mindy) McGee of Leoma, TN; and his grandchildren, Katrina Buther, Jerry Butcher, Claire McGee, Chantel McGee, Shawn McGee, Brittany Martin, Ashley Martin, Wesley Knuckles, and Tyler Knuckles. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, his special friend, Francis Foster, the mothers of his children, Ginny McGee and Sue Cassidy, and his faithful companion, Dixie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Linden McGee and Johnny McGee, and his sister, Pat Kephart.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
