Wayne Everett Kinney

November 14, 1937 — April 6, 2024

Wayne Everett Kinney, age 86, husband of Ester Hill Kinney, a resident of Santa Fe, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at NHC Columbia.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at Heritage Funeral Home with Brother Ronnie Johnson officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Polk Memorial Gardens.  A visitation will also be held on Friday, from 12:00 PM until 2:00PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Wayne was the son of the late Buford W. Kinney and the late Minnie McQuiston Kinney.  On April 23, 1994, he married Ester, to whom he was married to for 30 years.

Wayne dedicated 30 years of his life to National Linen Service, where he worked tirelessly until his well-deserved retirement. One of Wayne's greatest passions was sports cars. Despite his accomplishments and interests, Wayne was a man who valued simplicity.  His kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion. Wayne was a member of Elmore Nazarene Church in Primm Springs, TN.

In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by his son, Tim Kinney of Cullman, AL; daughter, Duane (Mike) Barnes of Santa Fe; grandson, Clay (Matti) Barnes of Pulaski; brother, Gary (Denise) Kinney of Knoxville; sister, Rosalyne K. Vaccaro of Lakeland, TN; nephews, Tony (Angela) Vaccaro of Lakeland, TN and Chuck (Laura) Vaccaro of Eads, TN, niece, Amber (Chris) Vaccaro Hudson of Mountain Home, AR; sisters-in-law, Earline Morrow and Carolyn Potts; brother-in-law, Charles R. Potts; and a host of nieces and nephews of the Calvin Potts family.

Pallbearers will be Phil Stanfill, Will Steward, Tony Vaccaro, Chuck Vaccaro, Steve Lockhart and Terry Adkison.

The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to Caris Hospice (Shaely and Mariah), NHC Columbia, Vickie Barnes and Kim Barnes Sharpton.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice.
