Timothy Edward Maxwell

January 26, 1965 — October 16, 2023

Timothy Edward Maxwell, aged 58, passed away on the morning of October 16, 2023, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee. He was a beloved husband to Sharon Maxwell.

A funeral service to honor Tim's life will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Dr. John Wagenveld officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to show their respects during the visitation on Saturday from 9:00 – 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Tim was born on January 26, 1965, in Jos, Nigeria, to missionary parents, Jonathan Alvin Maxwell and Rosalyn Bettenga Maxwell. He grew up overseas, living in five different countries in West Africa. Tim obtained his bachelor's degree from John Brown University in Arkansas and subsequently became a certified public accountant (CPA). On July 16, 1988, he married Sharon Stanbrough, and together, they were blessed with four children.

Throughout his life, Tim dedicated himself to ministry and missionary work, beginning with auditing churches, and non-profit and mission organizations. He most recently served as Multiplication Network’s first and only CFO and VP of Operations, serving since 2010. Tim came to this position with more than twenty years of service with organizations such as Mission Aviation Fellowship, Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, and Bible League International. He spent over twenty years hosting seminars and mentoring others for Christian businesses.

Inside and outside of his professional life, Tim loved to travel internationally; he visited a total of fifty-nine countries in his lifetime.  He enjoyed playing sports, especially soccer and volleyball. Always with a house project to work on, Tim was a handyman who could fix or build anything. He loved enjoying good food and had perfected his cinnamon roll and salsa recipes.

Above all, Tim was a faithful servant of the Lord who lived every day to the glory of God. He taught others how to persevere in difficult moments with grace, humility, and love. He will be deeply missed by the many who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his children, Rebekah Maxwell, Deborah (Chris) Sharrock, Hannah (Sterling) Riether, Samuel Maxwell, brothers, Daniel (Jacqueline) Maxwell, Phillip (Shannon) Maxwell, grandchildren, Anna and Lydia Sharrock, and nephews, James, Micah, and Noah Maxwell.

Those honoring Tim’s life as pallbearers will be Phillip Maxwell, Daniel Maxwell, Samuel Maxwell, Sterling Riether, John Von Thaden, and Clark Lykkegaard.
