Thomas Edward Jones

Thomas Edward Jones, age 71, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will also be Friday from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born on October 31, 1954, in Franklin, Tennessee, Thomas was the son of the late Willie Bail Jones and the late Christine Beatrice Davis Jones. He received his education through the Williamson County School System and went on to build a career as a skilled concrete mason. Throughout his many years in the trade, Thomas worked on numerous projects across Columbia, leaving behind a lasting mark on the community through his craftsmanship and hard work.

Thomas had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found great enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life. A dedicated horse trainer, he had a special passion for working with horses and was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He also found pleasure in gardening and cooking and had a keen enthusiasm for the weather.

He is survived by his son, Thomas Edward Jones, Jr., daughters, Cassandra Brown, Doretha (Davidian) Simpson, brother, Samuel Jones, sister, Rachel Jones, grandchildren, Jayden Bailey, Khamdyn Bailey, Christopher Parks, Alexiah Jones, Thomas Jones, III, Tayrell Jones, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Ann Stovall Jones, infant daughter, Christine Jones, son in law, Christopher J. Brown, and brothers, Wesley Jones, Joe Willie Jones, Bobby James Jones, and Daniel Jones.
