Thomas Christopher “Kirb” Wilson, age 62, husband of Gwendolyn Wilson, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 1:00 PM, with a visitation from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Following the service, Chris will be laid to rest in Johnson Chapel Cemetery in Culleoka, with honors from the United States Air Force. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on September 10, 1961, in Maury County, Tennessee, Chris was the son of the late Ralph Wilson and the late Willie Mae Johnson Wilson. A 1979 graduate of Columbia Central High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force, he married Gwendolyn Porter on August 16, 1986. Chris contributed many years as a foreman for General Electric and recently devoted eight years to Ryder. An enthusiastic University of Tennessee fan, he found solace in listening to music and cherished moments spent with family and many friends. Chris was a faithful member of West Point Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Krystal Porter of Columbia, Ashton Wilson of Columbia, brothers, Marcus (Cheryl) Wilson of Columbia, Travis (Georgena) Wilson of Columbia, sister, Tracy Wilson of Jackson, adopted loving brother, Alfred (Cheryl) Wilson, mother in law, Izora Porter, brother in law, Walter (Carolyn) Porter, sister in law, Colette Walker, grandchildren, Donnazia Brewster, De’Andrah Rhodes, nieces and nephews, Natasha “Tink” Wilson, Chiquita (Lonnie) Haley, Shaherah “Nasha” Wilson, Quijuana Wilson, RaKwaan (Chassity) Wilson, Rakwalia (Cortez) Fleming, and Lisa Walker, and a host of great nieces and great nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Wilson, Valerie Wilson, and Kimberly Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Kevari Wilson, Azarion Robinson, RaKwaan Wilson, Cortez Fleming, David Wilson, Tony Hatton, DJ Simpson, and Tray Cooper.
