Theresa McDermott, age 91, a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Life Care Center.
The family will celebrate her life with private services at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on October 8, 1927 in Ossining, New York, Theresa was the daughter of the late Anthony Goncalves and the late Josephine Foschini Goncalves. She previously worked as an administrative assistant for the Veterans Affairs and was extremely proud to help start the Spring Hill Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by her children: Barbara (Skip) Davis, Robert (Lucia) McDermott, David McDermott; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister: Diane (Ken) MacNair; and loving nieces: Kelly MacNair, Marnie (Brad) Sauve, Ashley Sauve, Cailin Sauve, and Jamie Sauve.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her devoted husband: Francis McDermott; and brothers: Alfred and Eric Goncalves.
