Thelma Evone Wells

Thelma Wells, age 70, a resident of Summertown, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Brandon Cochran officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Scribner’s Mill Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Monday from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 8, 1954, in Columbia, Tennessee, Thelma was the daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Crigger and the late Willie Pearl Quirk Crigger. She was a warm, fun-loving, and outgoing woman who never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her. Thelma found joy in working puzzle books and lived her life guided by her Christian faith.

She is survived by her children, Daryl Smithson of Columbia, Rennee Ardry of Summertown, Derek (Tasha) Smithson of Columbia, Lynn Wells of Columbia, “claimed” son, Bobby Overstreet, brother, Arthur Crigger, sister, Vicky Hethcote, grandchildren, Cherokee Smithson, Clara Jean Smithson, Daryl Smithson, Jr., Derrek Wade Smithson, Krysta Evone Overstreet, Zachary William Furlong, Angela Ardry, Theresa Deweese, Brianna Smithson, Jordan Hernandez, Savannah Overstreet, Dylan Overstreet, Liam Decareau, Jessica Hethcote, niece, Beth (Frank) Springer, nephew, Greg Hethcote, and numerous great grandchildren and other nieces and nephews.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Overstreet, Liam Decareau, Frank Springer, Greg Hethcote, Derek Smithson, Larry Ardry, and Zachary Furlong.
