Sybil Ann Mitchell, age 68, a longtime resident of Primm Springs, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 1:00pm at Potts Cemetery with Ronnie Burns officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on July 23, 1957, in Columbia, Tennessee, Sybil was the daughter of the late Raymond Paul Fitzgerald and the late Margaret Louise Hutcherson. She worked for many years in the cafeteria at Santa Fe School and later enjoyed cleaning houses. She loved being outdoors and found joy in going out to eat fish, her favorite meal. More than anything, she cherished her family; her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. She was a member of Mission Baptist Church in Leatherwood.

She is survived by her daughter, Tabitha Scott, sisters, Cynthia Sue Fitzgerald, Nancy (Kevin) Booker, grandchildren, Brittany Clive, Dillon (Heaven) Scott, Haley Slaughter, great grandchildren, Hudson Scott, Kye Scott, six other great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Morris Mitchell, son, Joey Nelson Parker, and siblings, Glenda Fitzgerald, Raymond Fitzgerald, Jr., Jeffrey Fitzgerald.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Ashlie Brooks Mustoe, Kim Brooks, and Holly for their exceptional care for Sybil during this very difficult time.
