Stephen Michael Sewell

September 16, 1980 — March 9, 2024

Stephen Michael Sewell, age 43, resident of Leoma, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at his residence.

Stephen was born on September 16, 1980, in Lewis County, Tennessee, to the late Marvin Franklin Sewell and Sheila Reeves Sewell. He graduated from Perry County High School and pursued a career as a dedicated meat cutter. Stephen found joy in life's simple pleasures, particularly in his love for fishing and his unwavering support for the TN Vols. He had a passion for music, often expressing it through playing the guitar and singing.

Though Stephen did not have children of his own, his heart was full of love for his niece, Alexis Barnes, and nephew, Gavin Sewell, both of Leoma, Tenn. He extended his warmth to others by volunteering with the Junior Pro Football league in Perry County.

Stephen is survived by his loving mother, Sheila Reeves Sewell, and his brother, Ben Sewell. He will be fondly remembered by his aunts Tracy Fortner (Joey), Kristi Tinin-Hodge (Billy), Kayla Parnell (Mason), Ramona DeBartolimies, and uncles Joey Reeves (June) and Scott Reeves (Melissa).

Steve-O, as he was affectionately known, leaves behind a multitude of cousins who held a special place in his heart. His circle of friends was vast, but among them, Shawn Matthews stood out as family—now, forever, and always.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 23rd at 1:00pm at Young Funeral Home in Linden.  The family will visit with friends and family on Saturday from 11:00am until the 1:00pm service hour at the funeral home.
