Shirley Sue Graham, age 67, passed away early Friday morning, May 1, 2026, at her niece’s residence.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. She will be laid to rest in Polk Memorial Gardens at a later date. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Shirley was born on November 3, 1958, in Alabama, to the late Marion Levi Cornelius and the late Martha Ann Lane Cornelius. She was born deaf and mute due to scarlet fever, yet she lived her life with joy. She lovingly cared for her son, who had cerebral palsy, and devoted many years of service working in the laundry department at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Shirley was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In her younger years, she loved spending time in the sunshine, dancing, and taking long walks. She never met a stranger. She was deeply loved and treasured the time she spent with her family.
Shirley is survived by her sisters, Linda (Daniel) Bobo, Sandy Phillips, Patricia Blaire, Joannie Shively, and Kathy Cornelius; her niece, Melissa Cornelius Cannady, who was more like a sister to her; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Brandon Dewayne Graham, and her brothers, Bobby Cornelius, L.D. Cornelius, and Gerry Cornelius.
Pallbearers will be Dalton Cannady, BJ Spires, Matthew Shively, Randy Cornelius, Christopher Cornelius, and Tommy Andrews.
