Robert A. Szymanski, "Bob", beloved husband of Theresa, father of Jay, Jeff, Holly, and Kimberly, Dja Dja to Karly, Gabi, Kynly, Bryce and Savannah, passed away on Tuesday, September 8th at age 77.
He was a proud veteran of the VietNam War with the United States Air Force and he loved God and his country. He put his faith and trust in Jesus and shared a very special public declaration of faith by being baptized with his daughter in October 2024. "But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength . They will soar high like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
Golf was his favorite hobby, but his greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, joy and togetherness to all that were fortunate to know him. His warmth, humor and joyful spirit made every gathering brighter. He never met a stranger and met everyone with his infectious smile.
He will be forever remembered and we all hope he is smiling down on us from the most magnificent golf course in heaven with his new lungs.
We will be holding a private family gathering in Missouri at a later date.
We would like to thank all the doctors and medical professionals that helped us through at the VA Hospital in Nashville, Vanderbilt University Hospital and Gentiva Hospice for all their exceptional care.
If you would like to honor Bob, please send a donation to the American Lung Association or Disabled Veterans of America.
