Robert Dale Baker, Jr.

Mr. Robert Dale Baker, Jr., age 79, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at his home.

Born on August 12, 1946, in Maury County, Tennessee, Robert was the son of the late Robert Dale Baker, Sr. and the late Amy Lee Jacobs Baker. He graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1965. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

In his younger years, Robert enjoyed spending time outdoors, and in his later years, he found peace simply sitting on his porch. He was a quiet, steady presence in the lives of those who loved him, and he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Keener Baker of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Kim (Fred) Melton of Columbia; sisters, Gladys Rainey of Franklin, Rachel Russell of Columbia, Alice (Larry) Shaw of Columbia, and Ruby (Tandy) Rainey of Rockvale; and grandchildren, David Melton and Noah Melton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, William Rainey and Clayton Russell.

A private graveside service was held at Polk Memorial Gardens.
