Richard Jones, Sr.

Mr. Richard Jones. Sr., age 65, a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 18 ^th at 10:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with military honors provided by the United States Marine Corp with Pastor Alvin Anderson officiating.  The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the 10:00 AM service hour.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Richard was born in Montgomery, Alabama on December 16, 1955.  He was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.  He retired from the Unites States Marine Corps after serving for many years.  He enjoyed cooking, watching CNN,  and was a sharp shooter in the military.

He is survived by his sons, Richard Madison Jones, Jr. of Columbia and Keenan Jones of Lewisburg; daughter, Karsonya Jones of Columbia; sister, Wanda Jones; grandchildren, Ah’mon Lashley-Jones, Taliyah Lashley-Jones, Sheldon Miller, Sanye Miller, Messiah Jones, Roman Jones, and Kiya Jones.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Susie (Jones) Turner; and wife, Rose Mary (Briggs) Jones.
