Ranjana Anand

Ranjana Anand passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at age 70.

She was born on May 10, 1956, in New Delhi, India, and was the daughter of Vasdaev and Sita Gupta. She married the love of her life, Dinesh Anand, on January 29, 1981 and moved to the US shortly thereafter. They welcomed two children, Sumit and Neeti, and built their lives in Tennessee, sharing 33 devoted years of marriage before Dinesh’s passing in 2014. Professionally, Ranjana was a dedicated lab technician until her retirement.

Ranjana was a wise, joyful, and generous woman who brought warmth and friendship wherever she went. She had a special gift for making friends in any situation and took great pleasure in nurturing those relationships.. She cared deeply for the people in her life and her wider community — whether she was brightening a friend's day with her quick wit or quietly giving her time through volunteer work.

Enthusiasm and warmth were two of Ranjana’s best qualities. She was always ready for an adventure, especially if it included her family, who she traveled with to destinations including Portugal, Italy, India, Hawaii, Charleston, and New York. She poured her energy into staying active and connected through neighborhood walks with friends, yoga, Zumba, and learning to swim in retirement. In her quieter moments, she could often be found reading. Ranjana inspired her children, family, and friends to try new things, make new connections, and approach the world with an open heart.

Ranjana will be lovingly remembered by her son, Sumit Anand of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Neeti Anand of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters, Shashi Devidayal of Mumbai, India, and Usha Devidayal of Houston, Texas; brothers, Ravinder Gupta and Sandeep Gupta, both of Delhi, India; nephew, Gaurav Devidayal of Mumbai, India; nieces, Anjali Devidayal, Radha Sehgal, and Urvashi Devidayal, all of Mumbai, India; Priya Anand of Florence, Alabama; and Supriya Anand de Koning of Spring Hill, Tennessee; along with several other nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

Services will begin at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Heritage Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 2:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
