Raymond Paul "Punky" Burns, Jr., affectionately known to all as "Punky," passed away on June 27, 2026, at the age of 54.

Born on June 5, 1972, in Columbia, Tennessee, Punky was the beloved son of the late Raymond Paul Burns, Sr. and Rethia Burns. He was a simple man with a kind heart whose greatest joy in life was his family. He loved them beyond measure and treasured every moment spent with those he held dear.

Punky was known for his strong work ethic and took great pride in serving as a counselor aide at the Tony Rice Center, where he found fulfillment in helping others. In his free time, he enjoyed painting, fishing, and riding his bicycle. Whether creating something with his hands or spending time outdoors, he found happiness in life's simple pleasures.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted fiancée, Pamela Owens; his daughter, Zoey Johnson; his stepson, Matthew Owens; his brother, Phillip Burns; his sister, Jeanette (Keith) Miller; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Punky is now reunited with his parents, Raymond Paul Burns, Sr. and Rethia Burns; his brothers, Jeffrey Paul Burns and Tony Vincent Burns; and his beloved daughter, Ashlyn Agent.

A private family gathering to celebrate Punky's life will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Heritage Funeral Home to assist with Punky's funeral expenses.
