Phillip Kennedy Phegley, 78, passed away on January 10, 2026 in Columbia, Tennessee. Born on December 26, 1947, in Owensboro, Kentucky, Phillip lived a life marked by service, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of nature. Phillip retired from Paducah City Schools and proudly served his county in both the United States Navy and the Army Reserves. His commitment to duty reflected a steadfast character that remained with him throughout his life. He was proceeded in death by his beloved wives, Marilyn Phegley and Kathryn Phegley; his parents, Marjorie and Kenneth Phegley; his daughter Jeanette Myers (Jerry Myers), and twelve siblings. Their memories remained close to his heart. Phillip is lovingly remembered by his children: Robert "Bobby" Gray (Stephanie Gray), Vicki Gray, Barbara Finney, and Shannon King (James King). He also leaves behind a cherished legacy through his grandchildren: Rebecca Gray, Taylor Gray, Rhiannon Robinson (Cody Robinson), Brittany Hill, Christopher Gray, Dustin Gray, Destiny Myers, Joe Myers, Conner Howard (Lyndsey Howard), Austin Howard (Katelyn Sherwood), and Williow King. His family continues to grow through multiple great-grandchildren who will carry forward his memory. An avid outdoorsman, Phillip found peace and joy in fishing and camping. These passions brought him countless hours of contentment and connection with nature--moments that those who knew him will fondly remember. In accordance with Phillip's wishes, no services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Life Care Center of Columbia Activity Fund 841 W James Campbell Blvd Columbia TN 38401 or Hospice Compassus 1503 Hatcher Ln Columbia TN 38401 in honor of his memory. May Phillip's life be remembered with gratitude and may his memory bring comfort to those that knew him.
