Peggy Sue Hudson, age 79, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Justin Hudson and Landon Hudson officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Wilkes Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Thursday, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Columbia, Peggy was born on December 11, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Tom Ed Watkins and the late Monie Lou Roland Watkins. She worked for many years as a waitress at Shoney’s in Franklin and was a former member of First Assembly of God in Columbia. Peggy loved the outdoors, especially swimming and tending to her flowers, and she found great joy in reading. A deeply patriotic woman, she regularly supported causes close to her heart, including the Wounded Warriors Project, The Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Franklin Graham Ministry, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Above all, Peggy cherished her family and the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Jan) Hudson, Robert (Amy) Hudson, siblings, Tommy Joe Watkins, Joyce Pendleton, Carolyn Dodson, Eugene Watkins, Dwight Watkins, Donnie Watkins, grandchildren, Justin (Ada) Hudson, Kaitlyn (Conner) Holt, Caitlin (Tyler) Dysart, Dalayna (Zach) Rayburn, Austin Hudson, Landon Hudson, great grandchildren, Sawyer Holt, Freya Dysart, Hudson Holt, Canaan Holt, Darcy Holt, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, William Watkins, Lula Mae Dowell, Virginia Gale Pylant, Charles Watkins, and brother in law, Burt Pendleton.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Michael Hudson, Robert Hudson, Justin Hudson, Landon Hudson, Conner Holt, Anthony Armstrong, and Kenneth Williams. Honorary pallbearers will include Billy Watkins, Coleman Watkins, Austin Hudson, Randy Watkins, Sawyer Holt, Hudson Holt, and Canaan Holt.
