Paul Roberts

John Paul Roberts, age 74, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Donnie Davis officiating. Following the service, Paul will be laid to rest at Stand Cemetery in Duck River, Tennessee. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on July 2, 1952, Paul was the son of the late James L. Roberts and the late Bulah Irene Buchanan Roberts. He spent many years working as a truck driver. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed fishing and stopping at antique shops, always appreciating the opportunity to discover something unique. Above all, he cherished his family, especially the grandchildren he lovingly embraced and treated as his own.

Paul is survived by his special friend, Shelia Burchell; brothers, Willis (Jamie) Roberts of Fairview, Robert Earl (Connie) Roberts of Bon Aqua, and Bobby Roberts of Fairview; the children of his late longtime companion, Faye, Timothy “Timmy” Martin, Mike (Melissa) Martin, and Johnny Martin; and many cherished grandchildren who held a special place in his heart; and his and Sheila’s lil’ dog, Gimma.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved companion of forty-nine years, Evelyn Faye King Martin; brother, Gerald W. Roberts; sisters, Olene Bowen and Phyllis Roberts; and sister-in-law, Vickey Roberts.
