The family will visit with friends on Sunday, June 22, from 1:00pm until the service hour at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Nancy was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on January 4, 1942, as the first of four children of Leonard Levi and Mabel Mae (Doll) Clift. Growing up with farm animals set the foundation for Nancy to be an animal lover, one of many traits she passed on to her four children and grandchildren.
Nancy first worked as a secretary and married her high school sweetheart Norbert Snow, after eight years of courtship, on August 8, 1964, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Cincinnati. Nancy was an exceptional wife, mother and homemaker who truly went above and beyond to make a home a happy place where family, friends and newcomers felt comfortable and welcome.
She had learned to sew from her mother and created matching outfits for her own daughters and dresses for herself plus Halloween costumes, tablecloths, curtains, pillows and bedspreads. She enjoyed hosting the couples’ bridge and euchre nights as well as playing Scrabble. She made family dinners like clockwork and was known by neighborhood children for her homemade cookies as well as her leadership with Brownies and Girl Scout troops. Nancy was an avid gardener who could name any flower and would disappear into the raspberry patch. She also painted and guided her children in 4-H participation with their pet rabbits and sewing projects.
In her 40s and 50s, Nancy was instrumental in helping other children thrive with her in-home daycare business.
Over the years, Nancy and Norbert moved to Indiana then Illinois. In their 60s, the couple relocated to a senior community on a golf course where they made many new friends. Nancy learned how to golf and played in the women’s league. She also joined the Red Hats Society and served as Queen Mum. In late 2023, the couple moved from Illinois to Middle Tennessee where two daughters, their husbands and a granddaughter live. Several of Nancy’s cross-stitched or hand-sewn pieces of artwork and paintings adorn their home.
In her final months battling vascular dementia, Nancy was blessed to have wonderful caregivers with Gentiva Hospice and privately with Kristi Pruitt.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Sandy (Judy Brewer) Clift, Kenneth (Glenda) Clift and Gary (Joy) Clift.
Nancy is survived by her husband Norbert; their son Norbert (Julie) Snow: their daughters Barb (Chris) Lincoln, Vickie (David) Jurkowski and Kathy (Jim) Tadrowski; their grandchildren Damian and Dominic Snow, Madalyn (Brenton) Hemp, Lexi Tadrowski and Savannah, Chandler and Tanner Lincoln; and great-grandchildren Hadleigh, Sabrina, Nolan, Aria, Fiona and Isla Snow and Colter Hemp, with another on the way.
