Michael Dewayne Ragsdale, affectionately known by many as “Mo-Rag,” age 59, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Centennial Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Stephen Felts officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on August 4, 1966, in Columbia, Tennessee, Mike was the son of the late Doug Ragsdale and the late Carolyn Gidcomb Grissom. He was a master tree cutter, dedicating more than twenty years of his career to Mark’s Tree and Stumps.
A true outdoorsman, Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also very creative, and found joy in building model cars, woodworking, and antiques. Known for his quick wit and great sense of humor, he could always bring a smile to those around him. He especially loved riding for hours on country roads, and he had a special love for his beloved dog, Bubba.
He is survived by his daughter, Brittany Ragsdale of Columbia, son, Michael Ragsdale, Jr. of Columbia, sisters, Frankie (Jeff) Berry of Columbia, Sherril Walls of Carthage, brother, Ray (Cindy) Tinsley of Columbia, granddaughter, Brooklyn Ragsdale, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joy Lancaster and Marcy Keithley.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Michael Ragsdale, Jr., Chad Morton, Mark Morton, Jaden Foley, Timmy Massey, and Justin Jones.
