Michael Andre' Cathey II, age 39, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at St. Thomas West Hospital. He was born on July 7, 1987, at Maury Regional Hospital to his loving parents, Michael Cathey and Tiajuana (Tina) Whitaker.

Michael was known for his love of sports and his passion for fitness, especially bodybuilding. He enjoyed staying active and dedicated much of his time to working out, a hobby that reflected his determination and discipline.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Pearlene Armstrong Whitaker; his paternal grandparents, Allen Charles Cathey and Annie Christine Dobbing Cathey; his nephew, Kemarion Turrentine; and other beloved relatives.

Michael leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory: his devoted mother, Tiajuana Whitaker; his father, Michael (Bertha) Cathey; his grandfather, William Price Whitaker; his sisters, Lakisha Whitaker, KeiChoura Cathey, and Christine "Pukin" Cathey; his aunts, Kim Cathey and Cynthia (James) Grimes; his uncles, Vinson Whitaker, Ronnie Armstrong, Jerome Pillow, and Gabriel McGuire; his nephews, Ladavian Houston and Michael Cathey; his niece, A'Miya Cathey; a large circle of cousins; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Michael's life was a testament to the love of family and the strength found in faith. His family finds comfort in the words of 1 John 4:19: "We love because He first loved us."

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, love, kindness, and support shown during this difficult time. Every expression of sympathy has brought comfort and will always be remembered.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist with expenses through Heritage Funeral Home or Tiajuana Whitaker.

Michael's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though he is deeply missed, his legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family will never be forgotten.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Maury Memorial Gardens. Service and loving memory entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home, Columbia, Tennessee.

Serving as pallbearers will be family, friends, and Trinity Family Church family. Flower bearers only if needed.

Due to medical conditions and reactions, we kindly request a fragrance-free ceremony.
