Melissa Jean Davis age 55 of Columbia, Tennessee born July 6, 1970, and died June 27, 2026, at Maury Regional Hospital surrounded by her family and friends.

Melissa leaves behind the love of her life and husband James R. Davis (Randy) and they just celebrate their 13 th wedding anniversary. She also leaves behind her father Mr. Harley Briden of Culleoka, TN, her in-laws James & Nita Davis of Columbia, TN, two sisters Sherry (Kaci) Briden of Kingsport, TN, Christy Capps of Culleoka, TN, also Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law Wendell(Tina) Davis of Columbia, her nephew Caleb (Monica) Bennett of Clarksville, Derek (Jessica) Davis of Columbia, Triston Davis of Columbia, nieces Ashleigh Hardison (Isaiah(Zay)) of Nashville, TN, Shelby Briden of Kingsport, TN and Harley Capps of Culleoka, TN, Great nieces Arya and Reagan, Heather and Great nephews Xavier and Drelyn, Henderek and many adopted nieces and nephews. Melissa was preceded in death by her mother Mrs. Jeanne Briden, her Paternal Grandparents Ernest Briden and Georgia Ramirez, Maternal Grandparents James and Hazel Hamrick.

Melissa was a 1988 graduate from Santa Fe High in Norwalk, California. Melissa worked for Home Depot for 33 years before retiring due to her health problems. She loved to watch movies, read, and have game dates with Jennifer and James (her best friend and her husband) playing Monopoly usually. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to the mountains, driving across the US to show Randy where she grew up in California, and just out to drive. She was also outgoing, friendly, and with her personality that could fill a room, she cared deeply for the people in her life.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in her honor to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be on July 11, 2026, at 11am until at the Culleoka Fire Department 2410 Valley Creek Rd, Culleoka, TN 38451, there will be a potluck meal after the service, so we ask everyone to please bring a dish to share.
