Martin Kenneth Brown, Jr., age 64, husband of Marion Woodruff Brown, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Patrick Crandall officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Known affectionately as “Tazz” by many, Kenny was born on June 30, 1962, in Nashville, Tennessee, and was the son of the late Martin Kenneth Brown, Sr. and the late Thelma June Farmer Brown. On February 18, 1984, he married Marion Woodruff, with whom he shared more than 42 years of marriage. Throughout his working years, Kenny spent many years on the road as a truck driver.
In his younger years, he loved dancing, fishing, cars, and motorcycles. He also spent time driving the bus for The Voices of Christ. Kenny had a fun-loving personality and a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed making others laugh and rarely missed an opportunity to have a little fun.
As the years went by, Kenny developed a love for attending auctions and searching for unique antiques, especially oil lamps. He also enjoyed collecting coins and learning about their history and value. At home, he was happiest piddling around in his shed, tinkering with whatever project had caught his attention, or spending time mowing and caring for his yard. He also had a special love for southern gospel music.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kendall (Raymond) Farrar, son, Bryan Travis Abston, sister, Denise (Jeff) Collins, grandson, Xavier Farrar, niece, Misty Filson, nephew, Steven Collins, and great niece and great nephews, Derek (Christiana) Price, Brayden Price, Annaleigh Price, and Jax Collins.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sisters, Tina and Lucinda Brown.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Raymond Farrar, Bryan Travis Abston, Steven Farrar, Steve Williams, Randall Doud, and David Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will include Michael Bass, Steven Collins, Derek Price, Brayden Price, Michael Garrett, Greg Shim, and Tony Brown.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff of NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center and NHC Home Health for the care and kindness shown to Kenny and his family.
