Lyndale Ray Drewett, age 71, a resident of Culleoka, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2026, at his home.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, with Brian Gregory and Tommy Frady officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and again on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour. Born in Jena, Louisiana, Ray was the son of the late Oliver and Fannie Dee Drewett. He spent his life doing what he loved most being a father and working with cars. Whether painting, buying, selling, or restoring them, cars were at the heart of who he was. He owned a speed shop in Culleoka where he rebuilt classic automobiles, a passion that brought him joy and purpose for many years.
Ray was a member of Highland Church of Christ and was well-known in his community for his generous spirit. Affectionately remembered as the “Culleoka Good Samaritan,” he was always ready to help others. Up until his passing, friends and neighbors visited the family and shared countless stories of the kindness Lyndale had shown them through the years.
Above all, Lyndale devoted his life to his children. They fondly remember him as the welcoming host of many Culleoka High School gatherings—always encouraging, always lifting others up, always creating space for everyone. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Lyndale is survived by his wife of 25 years, Evelyn Drewett; sons, Kevin (Arlen) Drewett and Sheldon Drewett; daughter, Chloe Drewett; brother, Eddie (Ann) Drewett; granddaughter, Shaddai Dee Drewett; nephew, Tommy (Angie) Drewett; niece, Pat (Clarence) Baker; and cousin, Mike Fox.
Pallbearers include Brian Potts, Richard Pilkinton, Tommy Frady, Devin Webb, Peyton Craig, David Wakefield, Robert Cannady, Sean Kratzer and Tommy Craig. Honorary pallbearers include Jeff Carol, Charles “Pop” Wakefield, Aaron Frady, Don Kincaid and Denny Beaver.
