Lorretta Lynn York

Lorretta Lynn Ries York, age 57, a resident of Summertown, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on March 6, 1969 in Augusta, Georgia, Loretta was the daughter of the late Edgar Ries Jr. and Janet Ries Tuckerman. She enjoyed being outdoors, online shopping, cooking, listening to music, star-gazing, working with her stepdad in the garage, and had a love for animals. A loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother she found tremendous joy in spending time with her family. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband, David York, daughter, Brittany York, brothers, Nick(Suki) Nichols of Texas, Kurt Nichols of Michigan, Edgar Ries III of Tennessee, Gene (Michele) Ries of Tennessee, sisters, Joyce Tuckerman Wilson, Crystal Tuckerman, and granddaughter, Bella Grace, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her step father Terry Tuckerman and nephew Justin Price.
