Lloyd Eugene Mills

Lloyd Eugene Mills, age 84, a resident of Athens, Alabama, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Born on October 31, 1941, in Hughes, Arkansas, Lloyd was the son of the late Sloan Eugene Mills and the late Francis Witcher Mills. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Lloyd dedicated 35 years to a career in the insurance industry, a profession he truly enjoyed. Throughout his career, he especially enjoyed meeting and getting to know new people. Outside of work, Lloyd found enjoyment in working in his yard and taking leisurely joy rides.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Michael Mills, Tommy Mills, Christopher Todd Mills, Sean Mills, Danny Mills, Burney Mills, daughters, Lloy Cristelle Spaulding, Toi Danielle Groce, Natalie Chantel King, Melissa Bland, brothers, Junior Sloan Mills, Buddy Mills, sisters, Linda Mills Wood, Barbra Mills, Patricia Clements, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Paige Mills.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Air Force. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
