Linda Fay Hay McKay, age 79, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Williamsport.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Williamsport Methodist Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
A lifelong native of Maury County, Tennessee, Linda was born on January 30, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Alan Hay and the late Ethel Humphrey Hay. She attended nursing school and devoted many years to caring for others through her work in healthcare, private sitting in nursing homes and hospitals.
Linda’s greatest joy came from her family. She took immense pride in helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved tending to her flowers, traveling to Gatlinburg, and shopping. One of her most cherished traditions was gathering every Saturday evening with her children and grandchildren for dinner.
Linda was of the Church of Christ faith and previously attended Philippi Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughters, Connie Griggs Holcomb, Bridgett (Joe Shelby) Griggs, sister, Wilma Hood, grandchildren, Justin Clint (Jade Liggett) Holcomb, Brandon Todd (Sierra) Holcomb, Erin Dawn (Dalton) Walls, Amber Anderson, and great grandchildren, Aubree Holcomb, Ruby Scott, Ella Holcomb, Carter Anderson, one great grandchild on the way, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Audrey Stanfill, Mary Montgomery, Lecy Hay, Helen Hill, Donald Hay, Larry Hay, Sherry King, Deborah Humphrey, and Frank Hay, and the father of her children, Dan Norman Griggs.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Justin Holcomb, Brandon Holcomb, Dalton Walls, Carter Anderson, Joe Shelby, and Ryan Sweeney.
