Lellon Donnie Mathis

Lellon Donnie Mathis, age 81, a resident of Prospect, TN, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026 at Southern Tennessee Regional Hospital, in Lawrenceburg, TN Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on February 1, 1945 in Cookeville, TN, Lellon was the son of the late Luther Mathis and the late Mildred Brown Mathis. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and making hunting knives. A loving son, brother, uncle, and great uncle he will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his nieces, Sylvia (Matthew) Moore, Diane (Lonnie) Vaughn, great niece, Holly Vaughn, and great nephew Christopher Vaughn.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Mathis, brother, Luther David (Sue) Mathis, sister, Linda Mathis, and his great niece, Lacy Vaughn.
