LaVera Virginia Clow

LaVera “Vera” Virginia Butts Clow, age 86, a resident of Cornersville, formerly of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born on February 27, 1940, in Live Oak, Florida, Vera was the daughter of the late William Clyde Butts and the late Opal Mercer Butts. She was a devoted wife of sixty-two years to her husband, William “Bill” Robert Clow, who preceded her in death on February 16, 2023. She was a loving mother, grandmother, devout Christian of the Baptist faith, and a talented seamstress and crafter.

She is survived by her children, BJ (Jesse) Terrell of Paintsville, KY, Robbi (James) Stokes of Cornersville, TN, grandchildren, Taylor (Courtney) Stokes, Morgan (Austin Sanders) Faulkner, Cody (Kaylin) Anderson, Colby Lockhart, Makayla Terrell, great grandchildren, Keaton Sanders, Hartley Sanders, Isaac Stokes, sister, June Jones, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and special neighbors, Julie McKay, Jean Coote, and Doug & Sue Adkisson.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Buford Butts, Lamar Butts, and sister, Olga Dees.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Taylor Stokes, Colby Lockhart, Jesse Terrell, Austin Sanders, Erik Krussell, and Doug Adkisson.
