Kinez June Yanone passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2026, at the age of 75, surrounded by her loving family, following a long and courageous battle with a serious illness.
For many years, Kinez lovingly cared for her husband, Alfred Michael Yanone Jr., even while dealing with health struggles of her own. She stood by the man she loved with a devotion that never wavered, demonstrating a love that goes beyond words. Her care for Alfred was a beautiful reflection of the bond they shared and the strength of her character.
Kinez proudly served in the United States Army, where she met the love of her life, Alfred Michael Yanone Jr. Their love endured for 56 years, culminating in a remarkable twist of fate as Kinez passed away on their wedding anniversary, only 10 months after the loss of her beloved, as if she had willed fate itself to place a final exclamation point on their love story.
Kinez was a generous and spirited woman, a friend to all, and a devoted wife and mother whose love and support enriched those around her. She was the heart of her family, a loving matriarch whose presence, strength, and devotion to her husband and sons, Alfred Michael Yanone III and Joseph Yanone, shaped the lives of those closest to her in profound ways.
Few things reflected Kinez’s generous spirit more beautifully than her extraordinary talent for cooking and the joy she found in feeding those she loved. Her Southern cooking, holiday gatherings, endless pot of coffee, and signature pot roast brought family together and filled the home with warmth, good food, and cherished memories. Her kitchen was always a place to gather, share stories, and feel at home. Kinez and her beloved sister, Lucille Truette, could often be found spending weekends giving back to their community, volunteering at a food bank to help those in need, selling homemade jellies and jams, or baking cakes for local restaurants. Her love of cooking went beyond her own kitchen, and she even wrote and published two cookbooks, sharing her passion for food with others. Through her cooking, generosity, and the traditions she created, Kinez was a steady source of unity for her family and touched the lives of many. These are the memories and gifts she leaves behind, to be cherished for generations.
Kinez passed surrounded by her loving family, holding the hand of her beloved sister, Lucille Truette, the last surviving sibling of ten. As Kinez departed her earthly home for the final time, two butterflies ascended into the air, circling each other. It was a simple yet supernatural sight, a quiet reassurance and a moment of divine grace that Dad had come to retrieve her. Kinez has now gone to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Please think a positive thought and say a prayerfor our family as we cherish Kinez’s memory and endure the hardship of her loss.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause that was close to her heart throughout her life.
