Listen to Obituary

Ken Pollard, 82, of Macon, Georgia passed away on January 23, 2026 after a long life of serving God.

He grew up in Borden Springs, Alabama where his faith, work ethic and generous heart were cultivated and nurtured. He was proud to say he graduated from Jacksonville State University and received his Masters in Audiology from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) While in college his life would be shaped by two important decisions. First, he served in ROTC which led to him being an Army officer in Vietnam. Second, and most important, he met the love of his life, Mary Lynn.

Ken and Mary Lynn endured a tour of duty in Vietnam and then lived in Baumgarten, Germany where Ken was stationed after his tour ended. They actively worked with the church there, toured as much of Europe as they could and enjoyed driving their VW bug on the Autobahn.

Once they returned back to the states, they settled in Macon, Georgia. There, Ken launched his career as an audiologist helping thousands of middle Georgians hear better. They also found their church home at Southside church of Christ where Ken served for many years as a deacon and an elder. Macon was also where Ken and Mary Lynn became parents with the adoption of Kendra followed by Jeff.

No matter where Ken was, he never met a stranger. He always had a smile to share, a story to tell and he never left a conversation without knowing where the person he was talking to was from and what church they went to. Ken cared immensely for people and their souls and spent his life doing mission work and teaching others about the Bible. Ken’s memory and legacy of faith will live on in all the hearts he has touched over the years.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lynn Pollard; his children, Kendra (Cullen) Rodgers and Jeffrey (Brooke) Pollard; his grandchildren, Berkley, Brayden, Perry, Taylor and Autumn; and his brother Richard Pollard along with 7 nieces and nephews. No one was a bigger cheerleader for his family than Ken.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Lottie Pollard, his brother Steve Pollard, and his sisters, Kay Baswell, Evelyn Prince and Jill Ledbetter.

A memorial service will be held at Thomaston Road church of Christ in Macon, Georgia on Saturday, February 7 at 2:00 EST with an opportunity to greet the family beginning at noon.
