Karry Dewayne Neal

Karry Dewayne Neal, born on February 23, 1968, to the late Mary Ann Neal Bailey and the late Thomas Harvell, departed this life on November 25, 2025, at the Nashville VA Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Bethel Chapel A.M.E. Church, located at 1125 S. Glade St., Columbia, TN 38401. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 PM until the 1:00 PM service hour at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

In addition to his parents, Karry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Bell Neal and Robert Hue Neal; great-grandmother, Katie Anderson; aunt, Katie L. Murphy; and Baby Jackson.

Karry accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Bob Smith.

He was educated in the Maury County School System, and after graduating, he went on to serve in the United States Army from 1988 to 1992. He later worked in construction for many years until his health began to decline.

Karry leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Mrs. Cheryl Neal; loving children, Jalessa (Timothy) Jackson, Jamar (Jessica) Neal, and Javaris Neal; devoted sister, Karin (Undra) McCoy; stepfather, Cleophas Bailey; loving aunts, Ponsella Neal and Pauline Williams; special family friend, Mary Ruth Horton; mother-in-law, Lourena Baxter; special cousins, Melissa (Michael) Neil and Robert (Donnie) Murphy; devoted friend, Ollie Amos; and a host of other relatives, in-laws, and friends.

Karry will be remembered for his faith, his dedication to his family, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
