Karen Goodall, age 73 of Columbia, TN, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026. She spent her final weeks sharing time & memories with her family & friends who all loved & cared for her. A beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend, she leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Greg Gwin and Aaron Collins officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 2:00 – 3:00 PM.
Karen grew up in New Jersey before she and her husband, Thomas Dean Goodall, eventually made Tennessee their home in 2006. For nearly 50 years, they journeyed through life together, sharing its joys and challenges, while building a family and a lifetime of memories. Her family held a special place in her heart, and she was grateful for the many blessings and memories that came with being a sister, mother, and Nana. She treasured moments with them and her love, encouragement, and presence will remain a cherished part of their lives.
Karen was a woman of many talents. She was a wonderful cook, talented seamstress, gifted writer, and an avid Scrabble and word-game enthusiast. She also had a beautiful musical gift and played the organ & guitar. Her faith was an important part of her life. She was a faithful member of the Collegevue church of Christ and taught children's Bible classes. She had a deep appreciation for the beauty of God's creation- admiring beautiful flowers, the birds chirping, and the changing colors of fall foliage; all of which brought her so much happiness.
In addition to her husband, she leaves behind her beloved children, Chanelle (Aaron) Collins; Thomas Jonathan (Jackie) Goodall, and Matthew Goodall; her precious grandchildren, Caleb (Kiara) Collins, Daniel Collins, Lydia Collins, Abigail Collins, Maia Goodall, and Antonia Goodall, (aka Mia & Toni); her dear sisters Carol (Haven) Starr of Rhode Island and Jeanne (Tim) Finney of Dickson, TN; and many nieces, nephews, & friends whose lives were made richer by knowing her. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, John and Charlotte Medvedik.
Though she will be deeply missed, her love will continue through the family she cherished, the faith she shared, the words she wrote, the meals she prepared, the music she played, and the countless memories she created.
Memorial contributions in Karen's honor may be made to Florida College https://floridacollege.edu/give/ or Wounded Warrior Project.
