Judy Carol Blackburn

Judy Carol Teeples Blackburn, age 69, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Allen Lancaster officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Columbia, Judy was born on October 7, 1955, and was the daughter of the late Henry Teeples and the late Elizabeth Pope Teeples. She was a 1974 graduate of Columbia Central High School. She worked forty-five years in Property and Casualty at Farm Bureau, twenty years in the service department at Walmart, fifteen years as an office clerk at Keith Baker Homes, and a year at Mangrum Enterprises. She retired in December of 2020.

Judy was one who never met a stranger and enjoyed shopping and talking on the phone. She had a very special love for her beloved cats, Ruffie and Lucy.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Ricky Blackburn of Columbia, daughters, Brittany Danielle Blackburn of Columbia, Kari Nicole Blackburn of Fayetteville, stepson, Wesley Green, brother, Darral (Janice) Teeples of Columbia, grandchildren, Noah Blackburn, KaiLeigh Bumpas, Aiyden Bumpas, and Addyson Bumpas, and special friend, Lynn Dobbs.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rita Briggs.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Noah Blackburn, Samuel Teeples, Rick Randall, Mike Scribner, Ryan Locklear, and David Gray.

Honorary pallbearers will include Emily Schuyler, Alma Mayberry, Tonya Henson, Sherry Hay, Janie Jackson, Christie King, Susan Roberts, Libby Fraley, Lori Lancaster, Shelby Stanfill, Terrica Hawkins, and Dee Dee Woodard.
