Mr. Joe Tomlin, age 87, resident of Leoma, passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and the comfort of his unwavering faith.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 3, 2025 at 2:00PM at the Woodman of The World building, 200 Glen Springs Road, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
Born on May 27, 1937, Joe lived a life marked by joy, devotion, and simplicity. He was a man who found beauty in the quiet things-a still morning on the lake, a well-cast line, the sweet harmony of a southern gospel hymn. A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Joe spent countless, cherished hours catfishing on his boat. The water was his second home, and he knew the rhythms of the river like few others could. Fishing wasn’t just a hobby to him,-it was a way of life, a place of peace and reflection. Equally passionate about music, he had a deep love for southern gospel. Whether singing in church, around the house, or with friends, his voice carried the spirit of the songs he held dear. Through music, he shared his faith, his joy, and his heart. Above all, he was a devoted Christian. His faith was the foundation of his life and the guiding light of his actions. He lived with humility, kindness, and a quiet strength that touched all who knew him. He was a faithful servant, a loving family man, and a true friend.
Joe is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter, Jolene Hall, stepdaughters, Belinda Allen, Jennifer Casteel, Jill Andrews, Jessee Mullins, sisters, Ann Fitzgerald, Mildred Huckaby, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margie Brown Tomlin and Leon Tomlin, brothers, Ray Tomlin, Thomas Tomlin, Gene Tomlin, and granddaughter, Alisia Tomlin.
