Joseph John “Butch” Krueger, III, age 84, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, formerly of Naples, Florida and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away from this life to enjoy the next on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
Joe was born on January 2, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was the son of the late Joseph J. Krueger, Jr. and the late Aurora Trottier Krueger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four sisters, Marilyn, Jeanine, Barbra, and Kathleen.
Joe wore many hats. After graduating from Milwaukee Area Technical College in 1963, he worked as a mechanic for The W.J. Lazynski Inc. Company, an underground contractor, and then as a yard foreman all while still attending the college where he earned his associate degree in mechanical engineering and Internal Combustion Engines. He later worked for the City of Milwaukee Municipal Equipment division for thirty-five years where he retired at the age of fifty-seven as Fleet Supervisor for both Police and City Equipment. He was a member and served as an officer of the Eagles Club, Elks Club, and the Moose Club in Milwaukee, and was a member of the Eagles Club, Elks Club, and the Moose Club in Naples and Columbia and loved involvement in all. Joe was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene in Columbia, TN.
Joe loved anything that had to do with water. He loved to travel anywhere and everywhere and cruised twenty-seven times. Joe loved to build things. He designed, engineered, and built his pride and joy, a twenty-six slip marina named “Krueger’s Milwaukee River Marina” on the Milwaukee River.
Joe moved to Naples, Florida in 2000 where he lived for twenty-five years. He then moved to Columbia, Tennessee where he married June Bulcher in 2018.
Joe’s legacy lives on through his five children, Joseph S. Krueger of Columbia, TN, Jill M. Krueger of Muskego, WI, Julie C. (Jeff) Weber of Omro, WI, James J. (Kim) Krueger of White Water, WI, and Jeffery M. (Jen) Krueger of Mukwonago, WI. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Logan and Arianna Krueger, Jesse James Krueger, Montana Jake Krueger, Olivia Aurora and Elias Dominic Krueger, and great granddaughter, Violet Krueger.
His love for his wife June, and all their combined children and his trust in his many friends guided him through a long and well-believed life.
His wishes were to be cremated and his remains be placed with his father and mother’s in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
