Jim Kitchen

Kitchen III, James “Jim” Remer, age 83, died December 13, 2025. Born in Montgomery, AL on January 31, 1942. Mr. Kitchen was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Cox Kitchen.

An inurment will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Neopolis Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

He is survived by his sisters, Kaye (Ron) Knox, Kris (Tom) Turner, Kathy (Bryan) Oliver; son, James “Jimmy” Remer Kitchen IV; son, Travis Ryan Kitchen (Michelle). Five grandchildren: James Colby Kitchen, Maren Elizabeth Kitchen, Truitt Ryan Kitchen, McCartney “Mac” Joseph Kitchen, and Everleigh Jane Kitchen.

Mr. Kitchen served his country as a United States Marine before embarking on a career as a real estate broker. He owned and operated Duck River Realty with his late wife, Nancy. Jim had numerous childhood interests, such as tap dancing, baseball, and tennis. In later years, Jim enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and boating. He was also active in numerous local community groups and politics, promoting the interests of Columbia and Maury County.
