Jewell R. Crockett, age 92, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Andrew Phillips and JD Schwartz officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Memorial Park. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born on October 28, 1933, in Giles County, Tennessee, Jewell was the seventh child to the late Marvin Edgar Reeves, Sr. and the late Mattie Martin Reeves. She graduated from Jones High School in Lynnville in 1951, at the age of seventeen. She then resided in Nashville and was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company (now AT&T) where she retired in 1987 as a manager with thirty-six years of service.

She married Albert Crockett, Jr in 1953; he preceded her in death in 2004 after a fall in 2001 left him paralyzed.

Jewell was a member of Graymere Church of Christ.

She is survived by her nephew, David Reeves, nieces, Elaine Hawkins, Marcia Chandler, Tricia Jones, Kathy Lincoln, and great great nephew, Brent McCaleb.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, James Reeves, Jesse Reeves, and Marvin Reeves, Jr., sisters, Katherine Thompson, Helen Ledford, and Jean Thurman.

The elders at Graymere Church of Christ will serve as pallbearers and the deacons at Graymere Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers.
