Jewel Rhea Jobe

December 31, 1938 — April 24, 2025

Savannah

Jewel Rhea Pope Jobe, age 86, a resident of Savannah, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at her home.

Born in Wayne County, Tennessee, Jewel was the daughter of the late John Wesley Pope and the late Nora Lee Davis Pope. She was a woman of strong faith and a member of the Baptist church. Known for her warm heart and tireless spirit, Jewel dedicated many years of service as a server at Pick A Dilla Restaurant before retiring.

Jewel found great joy in nurturing her flower garden, a place she cherished and tended with love. Her garden was a true reflection of her vibrant soul—colorful, full of life, and tender-hearted. She loved to travel, take long drives, and stay connected with family and friends. Whether through visits, phone calls, or storytelling, she never missed an opportunity to share memories and laughter with loved ones.

Above all, Jewel treasured her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she delighted in every moment spent with them. A strong and independent woman, she exemplified the values of hard work, love, and resilience throughout her life.

Jewel is survived by her son, Rick (Kim) Lineberry of Grand Rapids, MI; daughter, Debbie (Robert) Dial of Collinwood, TN; brother, J.D. (Nell) Pope of Clifton, TN; grandchildren, Derek Lineberry, Dylan (Taylor) Lineberry, Alicha (Jim) MacDermid, Kala (Jaran) Abernathy, Rebecca Lineberry, and Madison Lineberry; and great-grandchildren, Cade Lineberry, Cora Lineberry, Willow Abernathy, Davis Lineberry, and Demi Lineberry.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, A.L. “Buck” Jobe; her son, David Lineberry; her brothers, Robert Pope and Grady Pope; her sisters, Stelcia Pulley, Julia Mae Horner, and Elcia Davis; and her first husband, C.W. “Bud” Lineberry.

The family will plan a celebration of life at a later date. Jewel will be laid to rest at the Lineberry-Howell Cemetery in the White Oak Community.
