Jeannette Bowden Pinkston, age 92, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, formerly of Swartz Creek, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 16, 2025, at Brookdale Assisted Living.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Mooresville Church of Christ with Chuck Morris officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Bryant Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on October 8, 1933, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, Jeannette was the daughter of the late Richard Columbus Bowden and the late Frances Virginia Ledford Bowden. She was a graduate of Marshall County High School and attended business school in Nashville.
On September 30, 1952, she married Harley Blaine Pinkston in Corinth, Mississippi. The couple made their home for many years in Swartz Creek, Michigan, until his passing on May 15, 2009. In addition to her role as a devoted homemaker and farm wife, Jeannette worked for Prudential Properties in Brighton, Michigan for five years and for Blanche Bekkering in Fenton, Michigan. She was also a realtor and broker at Pinkston Properties.
Jeannette was a member of the Flint Board of Realtors, Farm Bureau, Michigan Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. She was a member of Mooresville Church of Christ in Tennessee and Grand Blanc Church of Christ in Michigan.
A woman of many talents, Jeannette enjoyed oil painting, gardening, cooking, tending her flowers, and entertaining family and friends in her home.
She is survived by her sons, Garth (Sharon) Pinkston, Collin (Christine) Pinkston, grandchildren, Grant (Miriam) Pinkston, Gavin (Lauren) Pinkston, Grace (Hobe) Watkins, great grandchildren, Jonah, Abner, Ephraim, Gabriel, Hope, Eliza, Quinn, and Abel Pinkston and Emmett and Truett Watkins, and nephew, Anthony Bowden.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Melanie Fran Pinkston, and brother, Robert “Bobby” Bowden.
