Janice Marie Massey Allen

Janice Marie Massey Allen, age 83, wife of James Allen, and a resident of Woods Drive in Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday morning, August 2, 2025, at her residence.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 2:00 at Polk Memorial Gardens with Clay Gentry officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on July 14, 1942, in Maury County, Janice was the daughter of the late William Massey and the late Lorena House Hann. She married James Allen on November 16, 1957, and together they shared a devoted union of sixty-seven years. Janice worked as an optical dispenser for thirty years, beginning her career with Dr. Ralph Kustoff and later continuing at Eye Care Plus. She found joy in working in her yard, tending to her flowers, and shopping. She also loved relaxing at home and watching her favorite shows. Janice was a longtime member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Mike (Amy) Allen, son in law, John Hunt, brother, Donald (Shoko) Massey, grandchildren, Phillip Allen, Katie Allen, Jonathan (Whitney) Allen, Philip (Whitney) Hunt, Laura (Alexander) Kirby, Catherine (Colin) Steele, Robert (Breanna) Allen, William (Cayce) Allen, and great grandchildren, Bayler Allen, Jack Allen, Alaiyah Allen, Adeline Allen, Amelia Allen, John Archer Allen, Hannah Hunt, Noah Hunt, Gabriel Hunt, and Amelia Hunt.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Kenneth Allen, Perry Annette Hunt, John Phillip Allen, siblings, Alice Crews, Wayne Massey, Larry Massey, Jimmy Massey, and step father, Bill Hann.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, and honorary pallbearers will include the members of Jackson Heights Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Jackson Heights Church of Christ, 1200 Nashville Highway, Columbia, TN 38401.
