Jane Coleman Speakman

Mrs. Jane Coleman Speakman, age 88, a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at her residence.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 11-1PM at Heritage Funeral Home, with the service beginning at 1PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on February 7, 1937 in Nashville, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Martin Garrett Sr. and the late Agatha Coleman Garrett. Jane was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, working in her flower garden, and had a true servant's heart as she would help anyone in need. Jane was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Columbia. She was known for having a loving and outgoing personality and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Buddy Speakman (Jan Morrow Neal), daughter, Barbara Gingrow, brother, Tommy (Nancy) Garrett, grandson, Nicholas Howard, brother in law, Jim (Emily) Speakman, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewayne Speakman, and her brother, Martin Garrett Jr.

Pallbearers will be Skip Rollins, Nicholas Howard, David Highfield, Barry Brooks, Michael Wiss, and Kenny Malugin.
