James Willie Green was born on June 8, 1941, in Columbia to James Finas Green and Mary Eliza Green.
James served in the United States Army Airborne and later devoted many years to the building and construction industry, working throughout the Southeast.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Timothy D. Robinson of Jonesboro and Eaton Howell of Atlanta; and his grandchildren, Tyriel Robinson, Timothy Dewayne Robinson II, Jalen Grills, Jourdan Grills, and Toni Fletcher, who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.
He is also survived by his siblings: Gorden Green, Charles Green, Robert Green, Delphine Green Spearman (James), and Dorothy Green Walker, along with a host of loving family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Darryle Green; his daughter, Toshene Fletcher; his sister, Vera Green; and his brother, Donald Green.
Lovingly known as “Baby James,” he will be remembered for his strength, resilience, and enduring presence. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4002 Ohallorn Dr., Spring Hill, TN. A memorial service will follow immediately at 11:00 AM.
