Mr. James “Stan” Ronald Norman, age 76, a resident of Columbia and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 27 th at 4:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 2:00pm until the 4:00pm service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Stan was born November 1, 1946 in Maury County and was the son of the late Haynard Thomas Norman and the late Ruby Louise Voss Norman. He was a 1965 graduate of Haylong High School and soon married the love of his life Janet Davis Norman. He worked for Braid Electric Company in Nashville for 40 years as a human resource manager. Stan went to work for the Maury County Highway Department as a purchasing agent until retirement in 2022. His passion was in baseball as he played for several leagues in Maury County and Nashville. He was an avid Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves fan. His love was getting to attend and support the ballgames of his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Along with his wife of 57 years Janet Norman he is survived by his daughter, Pamela Michelle (P.D.) Runions of Summertown; grandchildren, Tristan James Brown, Mason Kendall Brown, Charles Patrick Runions, Samantha Lauren Carroll, and Joshua Harley Norman; great grandchildren, Alexia Brown, MaKenzie Brown, Rhiley Brown, Teagan Brown, Joseph Vincent, Brentley Runions, Eli Runions, Laylynn Carroll, and Macey Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Norman; brothers, Howard Norman and Jerry Norman; sister, Margaret Dugger; and granddaughter, Marranda Brown.
