Mr. James Calvin Llewellyn Jr., age 87, husband of Bertie Cook Llewellyn, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at his residence.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 2PM, with Matthew McKnight and Scott Mason officiating, at Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will be at Heritage Funeral Home on Friday July 24, 2026 from 4-7PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

James was born on February 12, 1939 in Athens, Tennessee, and was the son of the late James Calvin Llewellyn Sr. and the late Grace Coleman Llewellyn. A man of great faith he was a member of The Edge Church of God and loved worshipping and serving the Lord. He and his wife, Bertie, celebrated fifty-two years of marriage together. He was skilled with his hands which lead him to a career in auto body repair. He enjoyed listening to music, had a gift for talking and telling stories, enjoyed a good meal, flying his model planes, watching Westerns, Gunsmoke was his favorite, watching his grandchildren play sports, and was an avid Vols fan. A loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather he will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Jason (Marsha) Llewellyn, James (Cindy) Llewellyn III, Cecil Llewellyn, daughters, Bunny Hardin, Chig (David) Taylor, sisters, Diane Frye, Jean (Rocky) Leonhardt, Judy (J.W.) Johnson, thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, as well as lifelong friends, Larry (Linda) Devotie.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Llewellyn, George Llewellyn, Jerry Llewellyn, sister, Joan Llewellyn, and granddaughter, Jaida Parker.

His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
