Hykeith Tyreke Leranson Wells “Chopwop”, age 27, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 26, 2026, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born on August 19, 1998, in Franklin, Tennessee, Hykeith was the beloved son of Christy Leach and Keith and Terrieanne Wells. He was baptized at an early age at Providence United Primitive Baptist Church in Franklin. Hykeith had a passion for music, finding joy in both listening to it and creating it. He also enjoyed playing basketball, fishing, and had a well-known love for collecting shoes. Known for his goofy personality, caring heart, and protective nature, Hykeith treasured his family above all else and was deeply loved by those who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Defelix (Mackenzy) Leach, Mandraus Leach, Damonica Radley, Damontez Radley, Akira Wells, Keyonna Jones, Kamyrn Wells, Karmen Wells, aunts and uncles, Sheila Oden, Robert Leach, Calvin Leach, Felix Leach, Brandon (Jennifer) Wells, Jonathan (Marissa) Wells, Chartez Campbell, grandfather, Charles Robinson, devoted cousins, Latasha Davis, Shaniqua Moore, Detorious Davis, Romesha Guinn, Chamontez Oden, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Priscilla Wells, Elmyra Davis Leach, Felix Oden, and aunt, Lamyra Leach.
