Hilda M. Green

Mrs. Hilda M. Green, age 77, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Life Care Center.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 11, 1947, in Highland County, Virginia, Hilda was the daughter of the late Herbert Floyd Rexrode and the late Helen Harris Rexrode. She graduated from Bath County High School in 1965 in Warm Springs, Virginia. A devoted homemaker, Hilda found joy in caring for her family and home. She had a natural green thumb and loved spending time in her garden tending to her flowers. More than anything, she cherished the time spent with her grandson, Tyler, who was the joy of her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, James L. Green; daughter, Amy Green (fiancé Ronnie Ponder) of Columbia; brothers, Frankie (Ella) Rexrode of Warm Springs, VA, and Timothy (Veronica) Rexrode of Roanoke, VA; sister, Linda (Terry) Puffenbarger of Warm Springs, VA; grandson, Tyler James (Sarah) Green of Mt. Juliet; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Dawn Green.
