Helen Chamberlain, age 91, a resident of Culleoka, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Born on April 1, 1935, in Ketchikan, Alaska, Helen was the daughter of the late Frederick Isacksen and the late Helen E. Eselby Isacksen. Her father served as an Episcopalian minister, and his ministry afforded Helen the opportunity to experience many different places throughout her life.

An internationally recognized watercolor artist, Helen's work celebrated color, light, darkness, and the spirit of the human heart. Inspired by the work and teachings of European artist Liane Collot d’Herbois, she developed a distinctive artistic style that balanced traditional watercolor techniques with innovative explorations of light and space. Particularly known for her mastery of veil painting, Helen's work reflected a profound sense of inner freedom, creativity, and spiritual depth. Her refined technique and vibrant artistic vision invited viewers to experience her paintings on many levels and earned her recognition among artists and collectors around the world.

Helen possessed a deeply spiritual nature and was an active member of the Nashville Anthroposophy Society, where she found inspiration, fellowship, and opportunities for continued study and personal growth. She lived a thoughtful and contemplative life, finding joy in artistic expression, meaningful relationships, and the pursuit of deeper understanding.

An avid traveler, Helen explored much of the world and gained a rich appreciation for its people, cultures, and beauty. Her journeys, artistic pursuits, and spiritual interests enriched her life and left a lasting impression on those who knew her.

She is survived by her three sons, John Chamberlain, Christopher Chamberlain, and Steve Chamberlain; and her grandchildren, Matthew Chamberlain, David Chamberlain, Tyler Chamberlain, and Stevie (Jake) Frederick.
