Gary Wade Putman

Mr. Gary Putman, age 71, a resident of Columbia, passed away January. 15, 2026 at Franklin Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday January, 22, 2026 from 4-7PM at Heritage Funeral Home.

Gary was born on December 4, 1954 in Columbia, TN and was the son of the late Leon Putman and the late Frances Andrews Putman.. Gary embodied a loving and caring heart, as he would help anyone in need. He enjoyed wrestling, fishing, watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Vols, and spending time with his family. A hard work ethic, stubborn, and loyal best describes how he lived his life. A loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, he will be missed tremendously by all of those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughters, Karen (Adam) York, Candi (Darrell) Brassell, brothers, George Randall (Angela) Putman, Marshall (Carol) Putman, grandchildren, Ava York, Cash York, Caden Brassell, Gabriel Clyde, and Helena Brassell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Putman, brother, Jerry Putman, sisters, Susie Putman, Faye Bland, Ray Collins.
